Replace Missing Teeth with Dental Crowns & Bridges in Fairfax

Happy man and woman smiling together

When it comes to repairing the smile, two of the most tried and true treatments in all of dentistry are dental crowns and bridges. With them, Dr. Glikman and Dr. Berrada can strengthen weakened teeth, rebuild broken teeth, and even replace missing teeth. Using the highest-quality materials and state-of-the-art technology, they can restore a smile in such a way that it’s virtually impossible to tell that dental work has been done. If you have one tooth or a few that need a little help, they’re ready and able to provide it, so please contact us today to schedule an appointment.

What is a Dental Crown?

Dental crown restoration

A dental crown is a kind of restoration that literally fits over the top of a compromised tooth (hence the name). It can be shaped to help a tooth regain its original shape and appearance, and it even protects the natural tooth by completely covering it. It can be made of a variety of materials depending on the location of the tooth that needs to be repaired, ranging from all-metal to all-porcelain.

Typically, the process to get a crown requires at least two visits to the dentist’s office, but thanks to our in-house CEREC® technology, we’re able to condense it to one easy visit while still maintaining outstanding quality. CAD/CAM programs are used to design and mill your crown right in our office, so you can walk out of your appointment with your complete smile in just a few hours as opposed to waiting a few weeks.

What is a Dental Bridge?

Model smile with fixed bridge

If you are missing one or more teeth in a row, we can actually use two crowns to support what is called a bridge. One crown will be placed on both of the teeth on either side of the gap in your smile, and these will be bonded to prosthetic teeth to close it. This won’t only make your smile look much better, but it will also ensure that your bite is properly aligned and that the remaining teeth don’t drift into the open space.
